Sometimes I Set Sail

Sometimes I set sail
For rough waters,
Weighing anchor in a turbulent sea,
Casting my line in search of
The flotsam and jetsam that is my life.
Sometimes I set sail
For nowhere and everywhere,
Following the winds
Of what might have been
But never meant to be.
And sometimes I set sail,
Casting my line into the storm,
Only to reel it in
When the seas have calmed,
Catching nothing
But a moment in time.
For rough waters,
Weighing anchor in a turbulent sea,
Casting my line in search of
The flotsam and jetsam that is my life.
Sometimes I set sail
For nowhere and everywhere,
Following the winds
Of what might have been
But never meant to be.
And sometimes I set sail,
Casting my line into the storm,
Only to reel it in
When the seas have calmed,
Catching nothing
But a moment in time.
